Stokke Xplory V6 2018 Pram/Pushchair Review by Dad

June 25, 2018

A pram that truly ticks every box.

Adam was the first to take Ralphie out in his new Stokke #xploryv6 so I thought it would be a great opportunity to ask him to review our new “toy” from a dads perspective and highlight some of its key features.

Here’s what he had to say;
“The height of the pram is a big deal to me being 6ft, I love how we’re able to raise Ralphie higher in the seat and interact with him whilst out and about especially now he is more aware of his surroundings being 18m old.

We can really talk to him and I am personally more inclined to turn him parent-facing when setting up the pram as he is so engaged with us being higher up. Also a great convenient alternative when eating out as the V6 Xplory ‘cafe feature’ fits to all table heights so no more climbing out of Highchairs!

Probably a Dad thing but similar to a car the drive is really important to me as you don’t want the push to become a chore. The Stokke Xplory certainly ticks this box as I can manoeuvre effortlessly with one hand even around busy shops when following Mummy around. All I can say is thank god for the 32L removable shopping bag on these occasions. (I’ve figured out that you can hang clothes hangers perfectly on the handlebar too!) On that note the handlebar easily adjusts into different grip positions meaning Stacey and I can both find a position personalised to us.

The black chassis is a nice modern upgrade to our previous chrome pram and can be assembled one-handed making baby to pram a straight forward/ stress free procedure. The wheels are also puncture free making them more durable, stronger and low maintenance.

The toddler seat is designed with a multi-position recline including upright and full ‘sleep’ recline. The seat is well ventilated and the first of our prams where Ralphie doesn’t wake up dripping. The extendable canopy provides shade from the sun and like the frame looks sleek and modern. Other ‘wow’ features include the cosy padded footrests and black leatherette bumper bar.

The brushed grey material has a khaki twinge and definitely stands out compared to other fabrics I’ve seen. All materials are wipe-clean, water repellent and scratch free so no catching or marking when being thrown in and out of the boot.

Definitely recommend to any expectant parents or those fancying a change. Stacey has informed me the Xplory also has a carrycot addition which can be used from birth. Seems like yesterday Ralphie was in his so will be mad to think in the future when we have our second Ralphie can ride shotgun on the sibling board which easily attaches to the frame.

Prices start from £899 and you can also design and personalise your own via the Stokke website or visit the all new Stokke London store @ Westfields.
